The Charlotte Spirituality Center (CSC) was founded as a response to the growing hunger for spiritual development that is not dependant on a specific church.  We formed the Center in 2010 for philanthropic, spiritual, and education purposes.  Our mission is tri-fold:

  1. To provide quality educational training for those drawn to a vocation in the professional ministry of spiritual direction;
  2. To serve the community, near and far, with exceptional spiritual directors who companion all seekers, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey; and,
  3. To be a place of peace and prayerfulness, inspiration and mutual encouragement, open to all who share a common desire for spiritual growth and wholeness.

We engage this vision through providing a space for  exploration in the spiritual direction process,  a variety of classes, workshops, and retreats. 

The CSC is the only spiritual center of its kind in the Carolinas.  We need the support of those who believe our work is important to promote a spiritually healthy community.  We foster spiritual growth that is a movement towards discerning, naming, and claiming our experience of the Holy.  Through raising  individual awareness of God's presence and action in one's life, transformation is inevitable.  We become more intimate with our Creator and all of God's creations, especially one another.  This is a movement towards liberation, peace and unity that is missing in our culture, and often even in our religious institutions.  We believe all of life is spiritual and everything  belongs in spiritual direction.

The Charlotte Spirituality Center is almost entirely funded by the tuition for our training classes.   Our accelerated growth over the past six years tells us that our programs and professional ministry of spiritual direction to clergy, chaplains and laity alike is a valuable piece to our community's spiritual health and wellness.  We attained status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization recognized by the IRS largely to allow us to begin fundraising efforts and to seek grants so that we may expand our ministry.  However, we need your support!
